More memories in Qingdao

Inside the Lecture Room

Ni hao! Here are some of our pictures inside the lecture room. Discussions were always interesting because many of our friends from afar shared different, diverse experiences about intellectual property development from their respective countries. The speakers were also very patient in answering our many questions.

Memories inside the Bus
Also, when we were about to leave, the group leaders would look if everyone is inside the bus. If everyone was inside, we would shout Gulia! (I am not sure if this is the correct spelling) If someone was missing in the bus, we would shout No Gulia! The memories in the bus was indeed as fun as the memories inside the lecture room. Take care my friends, until we meet again.- from Emmanuel

The delicate shape, splendid ornaments, graceful lines and bold colors make Qingdao's Guest House one of the best examples of European villas in China. Originally, the Guest House was the official residence of the German governor-general of Jiao'ao. The original name was the Governor's Official Residence, in 1934, it was formally renamed "Guest House," and then became important as a retreat to receive the VIPs of military affairs and politics.

You've Got a Friend
Dear Friends,
Happy new year! I hope this email finds you well. I am particularly grateful for all the wonderful messages and greetings that we sent to each other through our IP blog, yahoo network, and emails. Indeed, there are so many ways to keep in touch and a simple greeting will surely go a long way.
I also hope our friends from Palestine are okay despite the Israel- Gaza conflict. Let us hope and pray that it is resolved as soon as possible for the sake of peace and safety of the children caught in the crossfire.
I have uploaded the last of three videos made by Maya which was presented during our Seminar in Qingdao and I hope, by looking at it, it brings back good memories of friendship, goodwill, and everlasting love. Always remember that wherever you are, and despite how busy you are and how far you are, you will always have a friend....
Let's sing this together......
YOU'VE GOT A FRIEND
When youre down and troubled
And you need a helping hand
And nothing, whoa nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest nights.
You just call out my name,
And you know whereever I am
Ill come running, oh yeah baby
To see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall,
All you have to do is call
And Ill be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Youve got a friend.
If the sky above you
Should turn dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind should begin to blow
Keep your head together and call my name out loud
And soon I will be knocking upon your door.
You just call out my name and you know where ever I am
Ill come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you got to do is call
And Ill be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Hey, aint it good to know that youve got a friend?
People can be so cold.
Theyll hurt you and desert you.
Well theyll take your soul if you let them.
Oh yeah, but dont you let them.
You just call out my name and you know wherever I am
Ill come running to see you again.
Oh babe, dont you know that,
Winter spring summer or fall,
Hey now, all youve got to do is call.
Lord, Ill be there, yes I will.
Youve got a friend.
Youve got a friend.
Aint it good to know youve got a friend.
Aint it good to know youve got a friend.
Youve got a friend.

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I wish for you to start this new year with hope and as they say: This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you have left behind... let it be something good.
Well! Dear friends... Continue on the Journey of Life,
I wish you Health,
So you may enjoy each day in comfort.
I wish you the Love of friends and family,
And Peace within your heart.
I wish you the Beauty of nature,
I wish you Wisdom to choose priorities,
For those things that really matter in life.
I wish you Generousity so you may share,
All good things that come to you.
I wish you Happiness and Joy.
I wish you the best of everything,
That you so well deserve.
!HAPPY NEW YEAR MY FRIENDS!
Sincerely, Eugeniu Chistol (Republic of Moldova)

Gulangyu Island, Xiamen
From left: Adenan (Palestine), Emmanuel (Philippines), Ashraf (Palestine), Mr. Liu (China), and Saleh (Jordan)
During our short stay in Xiamen, we went to this very beautiful paradise called Gulangyu Island. It is the biggest island of Xiamen. The roads here are short with many twists and turns. We had to stay close together because it was very easy to get lost.
The island is also called the “Island of Pianos”, with its very good music tradition. There are more than 500 pianos among 6000 households on the island. Many famous musicians in China were born and brought up in Gulangyu Island.
I had many nice memories here. We had long memorable walks here together with friends while we shared stories about our expierences in Qingdao and the IP Seminar.
